3. Trainwreck

4. Party

5. On The Line (Feat. Jonas Brothers)

6. Don’t Forget

7. Gonna Get Caught

8. Two Worlds Collide

9. The Middle

10. Until You’re Mine

11. Believe In Me

After acting in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock, Demi Lovato released her debut album on September 23, 2008. It debuted at #2 on the U.S Billboard selling 89,000 in it’s first week.

The first opening track La La Land is well amazing! Demi has a very powerful voice and the rock music with her vocals makes this track a must listen!

demi_lovato_Get Back was the first single from this album and this is even better than the previous track. This track has more heavy rock music with even more powerful vocals.

The next track Trainwreck is a little slow than previous tracks but still filled with rock music and Demi’s powerful voice (can’t help it, she’s got great vocals).

Party according to me is hot! This track is jammed with music that will make you rock! Along with great vocals, Demi’s got amazning writing talent as well.

After all those tracks with heavy rock music we come to the next track which is a ballad featuring the Jonas Brothers. On the Line has a nice music. The chorus has a more aggressive music with Joe and Demi’s vocals. Overall not a bad track.Demi

Don’t Forget is another ballad that does not have that kind of the rock music the previous tracks had beside in the middle of the track where Demi’s vocals gets higher for the chorus.

After two ballads, we get another song packed with heavy music. Gonna Get Caught did not appeal to me that much. I liked the chorus. The music was not all that great unlike her other tracks.

Two Worlds Collide was the next ballad I liked next to Don’t Forget. The song  was written by Demi about her and her best friend as well as actress/singer Selena Gomez. The lyrics are beautiful and the music arrangement are well done.

The next track The Middle has dark lyrics and music. I liked Demi’s high pitched vocals in the chorus and of course again the heavy metal.

We get another ballad, Until You’re Mine is darker than other ballads in this album. This song is not exactly my favorite from this album. I did not find this track to be as strong as the other tracks.

The last track Believe In Me is another ballad and a good way to end the album since the album started with heavy music, ending it with a ballad was a good idea. I loved the lyrics of Believe In Me. The music arrangements are perfect with Demi’s vocals.

Rating: A-

One thing I liked about Demi Lovato was her powerful vocal chords and her sense of music. You usually don’t hear this type of music with celebrities associated with Disney. Overall Demi’s debut album is packed with amazing music and lyrics.

[MINI-ALBUM] Beautiful Eyes – Taylor Swift

-Track Listing-

1. Beautiful Eyes

2. Should’ve Said No (Alternate Version)

3. Teardrops On My Guitar (Acoustic Version)

4. Picture To Burn (Radio Edit)

5. I’m Only Me When I’m With You

6. I Heart ?

This mini-album was released on July 18, 2008 selling 45,000 copies in it’s first week and coming #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums. It was only exclusive at Wal-Mart stores.

Beautiful Eyes, the first track which is a ballad. The acoustic guitar is used as the main instrument. The music arrangements combination with  Taylor’s vocals are very good making this ballad good to listen to.

The next track was in her debut self-titled album Taylor Swift but the track on this album is an alternate version. Should’ve Said No (Alternate Version) starts out with a different music of the acoustic guitar while the the other version started with the banjo. The music after the chorus also has a different music.

The third track was also in her debut album. Teardrops On My Guitar (Acoustic Version) is as good as the original one. I actually preferred the acoustic one.

Picture To Burn another track that was in her debut album. The radio edit…… well either I missed something but I fond no difference.

I’m Only Me When I’m With You is a track that had electric guitar in the beginning. We start hearing banjo music with the beginning of the chorus. Overall nice track to listen to.

I Heart ? was a track I definitely liked now. I loved the music and the lyrics. Yeah, I’m a sucker for teen pop.

Well with albums like Taylor Swift and Fearless, I could not be dissatisfied with this one, now could I? And neither would any of you Taylor fans!

[SINGLE] Hitotsu – alan

hitotsucdonly-Track Listing-

1. Hitotsu

2. Kimi Omou Sora

3. Tokyo Mimei

4. sign

5. Hitotsu (Intrsumental)

6. Kimi Omou Sora (Instrumental)

7. Tokyo Mimei (Instrumental)

This is alan’s 2nd single. It charted #100 on the oricon charts selling 1,486 copies overall.

Hitotsu is a ballad just like her debut single Ashita e no Sanka except in this track we see less of traditional music but still of alan’s various vocal ranges which makes this track a beautiful one. Her vocals aren’t as powerful in this single but more soft and pleasant.

Kimi Omou Sora, one of the b-sides of this track are pleasant to listen as well. This track has more of modern music that her other tracks.

Tokyo Mimei was another b-side of this single that I found very nice to listen to. The music arrangements aren’t traditional but more like the Japanese ballads now but with alan’s vocal, I preferred this song out of all the b-sides.

sign, the last b-side of this single is in her native Tibetan language. This is pretty much of an instrumental with a mixture of modern and traditional music arrangements. This track is not bad at all even if its an instrumental with less of alan’s vocals.

Rating: A

Seriously for a new comer, alan’s got a huge talent. This single was as good as her debut.

[SINGLE] Ashita e no Sanka – alan

-Track Listing-

1. Ashita e no Sanka

2. Sakura Modern

3. Ashita e no Sanka (Instrumental)

4. Sakura Modern (Instrumental)

Alan Dawa Dolma is a Chinese singer who is of Tibetan descent. This is alan’s first Japanese single released on November 21, 2007. This single came #69 on the oricon charts selling 2,062 copies in it’s first week.

Ashita e no Sanka is a ballad song with traditional Chinese music consisting of chimes and bells. The chorus in this track with alan’s high pitched vocals made me realize that she has a powerful voice which is something I definitely liked from this newcomer.  Her voice matches with every music arrangements.

Sakura Modern, the b-side of this single is good too. This song begins with traditional tibetan music. Another thing in this track that made me realize was along with alan’s powerful vocals, she also has amazing ranges in her vocals from deep to soft and then high.

Rating: A+

With alan’s first debut single being this good along with her ability of perfectly controlled ranges of vocals, she is definitely making a big impact in the music industry.

[ALBUM] Supreme Show – Ami Suzuki

Posted in Ami Suzuki, Japanese Music with tags , , on January 7, 2009 by bunnypukki

The tracks in bold are the one that has already been reviewed.

-Track Listing-

1. TEN

2. can’t stop the DISCO

3. climb up to the top

5. Mysterious

6. Change My Life

8. A Token Of Love

10. flower

11. ONE

Ami Suzuki’s 4th album with Avex Trax, Supreme Show was released on November 12, 2008 to celebrate 10 year anniversary. The whole album is produced by Yasutaka Nakata so the whole album’s genre is electro pop! The album charted #16 on the oricon charts selling 13,094 copies.

TEN the first track celebrates Ami’s 10th anniversary. A really good album opener because the lyrics are all in English telling of Ami’s career from her debut to now.

All the songs from her can’t stop the DISCO single comes next. Like I mentioned before can’t stop the DISCO has a catchy tune and fun to listen to.

climb up to the top, the B-side of the single with the annoying yelling of Ami but with the club type of the music, it really grows on you.

The mix of her previous single SUPER MUSIC MAKER is next. SUPER MUSIC MAKER (SA’08S/A Mix) has less electronic music than the original one and it’s as good to listen.

Out of the new tracks from this album, Mysterious was definately one I liked. Beginnning with synthetic beats, the electro music makes this song a really catchy one! Even though the lyrics are repeated, it doesn’t matter as it goes well with the slow beatings.suzuki

The next track, Change My Life has a more fast paced music than the previous track. I specially liked the music in the chorus of this track. Even though this track is techno, it gives me a summer feeling.

As we keep on proceeding to new tracks, the music and beats starts to get more fast. LOVE MAIL has that fast paced synthetic rhytmn and beats. With Ami going “LOVE MAIL~!”, this song makes you want to groove.

Our next track, the B-side of her single ONE, A Token Of Love. This song gets better and better no many how many times I listen to it.

TRUE is another new track in this album that I liked a lot. Unlike in Mysterious the beats are more fast mixed with electronic bells. Another track in this album that makes you just shake your body.

flower has more slow paced music then any other tracks in the album along with it Ami’s vocal. It’s like an ‘electro ballad’ and it isn’t bad at all. The slow rythmn and beats makes this an interesting track to listen.

And this album comes to an end with it’s first single ONE. With all of it’s synthetic beats and fast paced music, this track was the right way to end Supreme Show.

Rating: A

After being one of the most popular singers in Japanese music industry debuting alongside Ayumi Hamasaki and Utada Hikaru,to her downfall and comeback, Ami Suzuki’s this album collaborated with producer Yasutaka Nakata is a must listen for all electro pop lover. This also shows no matter what Ami’s going to be in the music industry for a long time.

[SINGLE] Sunao no Oshiro – Kanon Wakeshima

Sunao no oshiro

-Track Listing-

1. Sunao no Oshiro

2. skip turn step♪

3. Sunao no Oshiro (Instrumental)

4. skip turn step♪ (Instrumental)

5. Sunao no Oshiro ~orgel version~

This single is the 2nd single from Kanon Wakeshima released on November 12, 2008. It was used as the ending for the anime Vampire Knight Guilty.

Sunao no Oshiro, starts out with a very beautiful cello music much like her debut single Still Doll.  We see Kanon’s voice blend in with the cello. This track is as good as her debut single.

skip turn step♪, the B-side of this single is very opposite of it’s A-side. The song has more light and cute melodies with Kanon going “skip turn step”.

Rating: A

With both of her singles used for the anime Vampire Knight and produced by Mana, this new singer and cellist has a lot of talent! I can’t wait for her debut album which is going to be released in February.

[SINGLE] can’t stop the DISCO – Ami Suzuki

Posted in Ami Suzuki, Japanese Music with tags , , on January 7, 2009 by bunnypukki

-Track Listing-

1. can’t stop the DISCO

2. climb up to the top

This single released on September 24th, 2008 came #17 on the oricon weekly charts and was produced by Yasutaka Nakata.

can’t stop the DISCO has of course a very techno feeling with the Ami’s vocals. I really liked how Yasutaka Nakata has made Ami’s voice go well with his music arrangements giving us this really catchy track.

climb up to the top, has more of a club feeling to it. The song kind of gets annoying at first with Ami screaming at the top of her voice but after listening for a while, it grows on you if you like electro pop that is.

SUPER MUSIC MAKER was in her 6th album DOLCE and the original one was really good but I’m not saying this mix isn’t good either. Unlike the original one, this is short and sweet.
